STORY OF A RAMADAN DRUMMER
Every morning during the holy month Ramadan, drummers stroll the streets of Muslim communities around the world, waking worshipers so they can eat a meal before the day's fasting begins. Every year, Yenimahalle Municipality of Ankara organise a drummer test for the holy Ramadan. Drummers who past the test can officialy work as a drummer for a month. Adem Gezer is one of them . Gezer has been working as Ramadan drummer in Yenimahalle district of Ankara for 15 years. Adem Gezer, an immigrant from his home town Kahramanmaraş to Ankara for a month , is trying to make money under hard conditions in an old football field. Gezer also takes his brother and his family to Ankara for this one month job. He is living in a tent with his family in the field. Ferhat, the son of Adem Gezer, Seher, the daughter of his brother, temporarily study in a school in Yenimahalle.
RAMAZAN DAVULCUSUNUN HİKAYESİ
Adem Gezer, 15 yıldır Ankara'nın Yenimahalle ilçesinde ramazan davulcusu olarak çalışıyor. Her yıl memleketi Kahramanmaraş'tan bir aylığına Ankara'ya göçen Adem Gezer, eski bir futbol sahasına kurduğu çadırında zor şartlar altında para kazanmaya çalışıyor. Gezer, ailesi ve kardeşlerini de bir aylık bu görev için Ankara'ya getiriyor. Gezer'in oğlu Ferhat ile kardeşinin kızı Seher de geçici olarak Yenimahalle'deki bir okulda eğitim görüyor. Belediye'nin her yıl yaptığı sınavlara katılan Ramazan Davulcusu Gezer, sınavı geçmesinin ardından her yıl ailesiyle ilçeye geliyor ve çalışmalarına başlıyor.
